PIMPED OUT, HUH? REALLY? ENJOY THE SUSPENSION BUB
David Shuster picked up a cup on his way to the set on Thursday at MSNBC for a cool throat clearing drink of water. Unfortunately, the liquid in the four ounce Dixie cup had been transmuted by sources unknown into just under 2 ounces of liquid Thorazine™. He gulped the liquid without a thought and by the time he got on camera his frontal lobe had detached itself from his vocal chords. Yeah, that would be a cool story if it were true but the flying boys in the bright red building with the onion domes in Dis City Centre ain't buyin' it. Shuster was trying to be flippant and wanted to inject some gritty street lingo into the conversation about Chelsea Clinton campaigning for Hillary. He actually opened his mouth and said that Chelsea was being, "pimped out" by the Clinton campaign making phone calls to Super Delegates in the hopes of garnering support for HRC.
Shuster is one of my favorite MSNBCynics right up there with KO and that gorgeous sex pot Mika B, but I can't give him a pass on this one and neither can the Laal Hethri. Hell's strongest and only federal law enforcement arm took umbrage at the comments stating through a spokeswoman that Shuster should be cut loose. I agree, but you know it's not my call so David will be back when he's done dusting his plants of cleaning out the garage or whatever you do when you fall into the Imus-Tilghman continuum of rectal cranial inversion.
The average demon on the street shrugged it off, "I don't think it's that big of a deal really," said Thantixza Grubeol a succubus from City Centre who works in finance in Via Costernazione. "She such a strong and bright young woman I really don't think that such a comment would do anything more than make her frown a little and likely she would laugh and ask who Shuster is."
The common demon has spoken.

Having grown up on the cusp of the Manhattan neighboords of Chelsea & Clinton -- when it was poor, but a triply-finessed pun to be sure -- I can swear about the last thing Shuster wears well on the NEW Chelsea-Clinton runway is street cred!
I'm guessing he'll not be getting the next cover of BLUE BOY.
You gentlemen are just too much I cannot even finish my post from how well you set a straw man aflame. having dined in the closed kitchen of Delmonicos many a day in the Golden Age and in the main hall of vulca here in Free Hell I assure you this Shuster is not cut from the same royal cloth as my old crowd in Manhattan.

I watched the comment live and thought nothing of it. In today's crass culture terms like pimp and ho are simply polite terms now.

This was a polemic. Press was ADVOCATING for Clinton. Shuster was ADVOCATING for Obama.
I'm not going to go down totally into the gutter and write what an equivalently bad "crass" cultural analogy Bill Press could have made with reference to Obama's kids.
His kids. Her daughter. They are NOT part of this. Obama's daughters are little kids. As much as I loathe Barack Obama, I'll go nut-ball on ANYONE who writes foul and inappropriate shit about those children.
Chelsea Clinton is not a top advisor to the campaign. Not by a long shot. She's lending a hand with persuasion of super-delegates. That's it.
If you want to say that Shuster can make any crass remark he likes about former President Clinton, I'll agree with you. The Big Dog has been out there fighting for his wife.
We, Ourselves think that Romius was making more of a statement that American culture has a desire to lie in the gutter and yet be considered clean than to make any justification for attacking children of political candidates. That is unless they do soemthing stupid or illegal. We share your desire to castrate those who make children cry because an adult has a political hatred for their parents. Shame.

I take your point. I happen to like politics at the national and retail level. I think tough, negative, campaigning not only is inevitable -- David Reitman, economics professor at Ohio State (?) -- has a nice paper on this -- it is important, at least in the USA where the debate ranges from center-right to extreme right.
I also have no problem with "honest graft" even, in the sense of street money, passing out turkeys and voter turnout. I can make a very fine argument that GW Plunkitt, Tweed, Kelly, Curley and Bulger did more for the poorest among their constituents than "reformers" like Rudy Giuliani ever did.
I have to keep coming back to the Dutch Schultz and Lee Atwater metaphor, though. You leave the families out of it, especially the children. Shuster was grabbing a very thin reed there in making Chelsea Clinton's WORKING on the campaign justification for gutter politics against her on Obama's behalf.
