Since we here are in the business of such things, and it sounds like jolly good fun!, we took up the gauntlet.







1. You list cooking as an interest. What is your favorite all-around ingredient and why?
Salt. As it is the only mineral humanity cooks with on Terra and is the only spice truly abundant in Hell. We pack roasts in it to make perfectly tender delicacies. Or add a pinch to change the bland to beautiful. We smoke quite a bit of salt here in Dis by placing it in aluminium foil over a hot bed of wood chips. The salt darkens and takes on the character of the smoke. Nothing new to many cooks of Terra but you can make plain foods smoky in a snap!


2. What is one of your secret guilty pleasures? (and yes, it will cease to be a secret... Mine is keeping the last bits of frosting from a recipe so I can hit it with a choco bar later... I indulge VERY rarely)

What a great question to ask a demon! This will probably come as quite a shock but, when they are available, petit fors! Once a Hellac month I get four from Sinful Delights a bakery only two blocks from the office and make them a quiet private, sweet luncheon.



3. What music do you listen to?
With a lifespan as long as mine could be I have had quite some blend of musical passions over the centuries. Currently, I am hooked on Miles Davis. I love Gershwin, and Diana Krall's voice with a hot cup of anything soothes my soul. Then there is Bach and the brandenburg concertos, a compositionally perfect delight. And Vivaldi! Oh, that's right these are meant to be brief.


4. What's in your wallet right now?

Demons carry pouches but I'll dump it:

1 chalcedony key (Hell's version of a multipass, credit card passport ID plane ticket all in one)
A pack of Sulfothax (chewing gum for demons, keeps one's breath fresh)
My house keys
My negagraph flip book of pix( Carol, mum and dad, one of me with the Empress and of course one of Our Lady Paris Hilton)
40 silver denarii in coin of the realm (roughly 16.25 USD)

5. How do you make a sidecar (drink)?
What a treat these are to make
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz triple sec
1 1/2 oz 151 Rum

Shaken with chipped ice and served in a chilled martini glass, with a drop of cinnamon vodka in the center.

NO ANN IT'S HARD OUT THERE FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS ACTUALLY

Facts seem to escape those who are in the pay of one politcal party or another. I really wonder what's in the kool-Aid they drink and what pretty colors the sky turns for them when they change facts to suit themselves. Anne Coulter seems to forget that there is more to doing research than clicking the first thing that pops up on google and expecting the rest of the peole up there on Terra to swallow it as, dare I say it, gospel.

Mr. Coulter begins his diatribe on the price of gas at the pump and the lame floopings of Democrats in effort to coddle middle class voters struggling to manage with rising gas prices and the impending house bubble explosion. I will admit that drilling in ANWR would have given, if high end estimates of 9.2 billion barrels are accurate, every drop recovered would equate to 1 year and four months of average consumption for the USA. A 42 gallon barrel of crude yields just under 8 and one quarter gallons of gasoline when refined. Not enough really to drive down the price of gasoline even if it didn;t take three years to get at the material in ANWR. Nice try Ann.

After complaining about democrats wanting the federal gas tax to be increased to say 50 cents a gallon from the current 18, Coulter goes on to say that the oil company profits are only nine cents per gallon. "The Democrats' only objection to current gas prices is that the federal government's cut is a mere 18.4 cents a gallon. States like New York get another 44 cents per gallon in taxes. The Democratic brain processes the fact that "big oil companies" get nearly 9 cents a gallon and thinks: WE SHOULD HAVE ALL THAT MONEY!"

Personally, I think the fuel tax ought to be $6.50 and you could really clean up over there with the GOP. At that rate the wealthiest 1% would pay no tax. But the catch would be they would have to pay cash for any public services they got. No more loopholes because there would be no more tax. And any charitable donations the wealthy made would TRULY have to philanthropic and not just something they could write off.

Wrong, according to the fuel margins chart from the energy department of the state of California. The charts says refinery costs and profits total $0.78 and dealer profits are nione cents per gallon. Here's a small lesson Ann, the dealer is the guy who brokers gasoline for big oil and big oil owns the refineries. If you are going to play out here with the rest of us girls you have to get your facts straight.

A FRIGHTENING PARALLEL

Nixon scared me when I was alive. Not because I thought he was a crook, but that he had the ear and heart of so many people in America that thought they were getting the dirty end of the stick. There was no way the average American could see into Nixon's heart or mind all we could do was watch the news. Then one day we heard from Cronkite that Reverend Billy Graham was giving counsel to President Nixon. That bought out a sigh of relief. We could not have known the truth. I know Billy Graham is an old man but at the time as Mr Vest so eloquently points out in his 2002 article he had the ear of the most powerful man in the world and was speaking "advice" from a point of "privilege" that few Americans enjoy.

Now fast forward to 2005. Now we see President Bush nominating Harriet Miers for SCOTUS and the media going into a frenzy. By the way this is probably the very worst political gaffe in the history of the Republican party. Reverend James Dobson makes a quick call to the president regarding his choice and nI would bet wanted to know about the abortion issue. Not again. When men can have children they can put on a dress and stand at a podium and tell me what to do with my body. until then Dobson and the rest of them can just shut up.

The point I was trying to make is like Graham, who spewed anti-Semitic garbage at an accepting ambition driven Nixon, Dobson has done the very same to President Bush. No not something as tangible as racism, oh dear me no. But control over the very people themselves. These evangelicals promote and support limits on freedoms in America more than any other demographic. Why? For one reason their type of America would have greater controls on just how free you would be. The very first thing they would take away is the very medium I am using right now. In a perfect world for Dobson the Internet would belong to pastors bishops and religious scholars, men only of course, and the rest of the world would have to listen to them.

A prediction from Billy Graham, the same reverend who blamed Jews for pornography in the 70s, "I'm for evangelicals running for public office and winning if possible and getting control of the Congress, getting control of the bureaucracy, getting control of the executive branch of government."

Don't think Rev Dobson is a fool the man has a degree in psychology.

Here's a quote for you: "I am deeply disturbed by the dangerous and growing influence of people like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell on our nation’s political leaders."

Okay take a moment and think about who might have said that just 2 years ago.

Scary isn't it. Even to a chick in Hell, that a wizened freethinker in the twilight of his years like WC would stand up and make that statement. Chilling. So what you have in America now is the first evangelical president, ever. Report card maybe? Failure, domesticaly, see Katrina

Failure, internationally, see Iraq

Failure, economically, see stagnant growth and high energy costs in the midst of record oil company profits

Failure morally, see that he has allied himself with men who given the cloak of privilege will do the lowest things and indulge their most lustful desires.


So now comes the time for solutions. Starting with your next locale elections, state elections and the midterms in November. Take back the nationm and turn oput these heretics. For to do otherwise would be to turn your back on democracy.

A phrase such as the one that follows is in the head of a fifteen year old who is willing to run across an international border on a hot day:

Freedom, the sweet true nature of it has little to do with Fed but much more to do with the content of the characters of America's citizens.

And you citizen there in the American southwest full of some errant patritism from a day long dead should find yourself the victim of a cloud of radiation from a bomb place by the hand of that basest of Mohammedans, the bin Laden which we here in Hell even spit his name as we would do Shai'tan, whither wouldst thou run? To the border of Mexico to escape the cloud? And how many of you who cannot bear the mosquitos sting would not risk taken steps illicit to flee across the border on foot to escape certainly that death bearing plume?

You may wonder that this is a gross comparison that one is lucre and one is life. I say not dear friends. For the state of things in Mexico is nothing but a foreshadow of things to come in generations in America where power is so consolidated away from the centre that the wealthy and the poor are alas two majorities. Things trend this way even as we speak from Bar Harbor to Burlingame.

As Latinos march on Monday, salute them and cheer them with the words:

I winced when I saw this on the newswire. If these animals were trying to protect an underage girl then they should have taking the boy outside and been done with it. If they were looking for a target to vent their anger on then they will certainly inherit the winds of justice in a state that relishes putting people to death. The hate crime aspect of their viscious attack notwithstanding, this beating was a malicious act carried out by two young men who chucked their humanity for bestial violence and humiliation. To hear them called "troubled and angry" on CNN also made my stomach turn. two white boys in Texas troubled and angry? About what? If they were really upset about their lot in life, lack of intelligence, white trash lives they should have gone to the nearest recruiter, Army, Navy, Marine Corps and enlist. This way, three lives could have been saved.

DETERMINING WHAT IS NEWSWORTHY

You would think the boss would tackle a meaty subject like this one. But, no, he wanted to ensure that I didn't buzz out of the office today too early for my trip to Washington by way of Serratoth Island. So here I sit poring over Google and Sizzle and a stack of terran newspapers for what they think is or is not newsworthy. Like many problems I feel the best way to handle this is to break it up into smaller sizes.

There are all kinds of humans with all kinds of interests. Some like hard news and will tell you all the details of Plamegate without taking a breath. Others are drooling over whether Ms. Spears is "preggers" again and what the gender of Bradgelina's offspring is. Somewhere in the middle is a ten percent that wants to be kept informed on local issues, crime, taxes, human interest and national and global news that they feel could affect them and they find of interest.

That's a look at it from a consumer side. From the corporate side, the people who decide on the news, Hell I couldn't tell you how they figure what will run. Ratings seem to be the greatest determining factor. Ratings get you more advertising dollars which gets your stock higher because ytou can offer more ad space and the wheel goes round and round.

That sort of corporate governance should make the public skeptical but it doesn't when they are getting a constant diet of the runaway bride or TomKat. Americans know about the war in Sudan and the genocide of Darfur but you can bet your last big portrait, hard to counterfeit, twenty dollar bill that everyone will be abreast of the situation there after George Clooney is done with it. As long as corporations run the media they have a right to pick up the phone and say "don't run that story or clip or sound bite." If you think this isn't possibloe in your free country read some of the english versions of Israeli dailies and any of the European dailies for all the stuff globally and some in America that CNN doesn't have the time for because it has to run commercials.

Why is it that journalists don't run down behind Congressmen and Senators all the time looking for them to wander into a house of ill repute or buy a copy of the Qur' an? because they have a deal with the media. The only way you'll know if your Congressman or Senator has stepped in the honey bucket is after they've been printed photgraphed booked and released into their own custody. Even 60 Minutes has lost its toothiness over the years aging even as the venerable Mike Wallace grows aged. They were my heroes when I was on Terra storming into this office or that with their cameras making the guilty cower and giving solace to those who were wronged. Now in their corporate incarnation they are a litany of journalists too many to number here taking up nearly half a minute of their 60 to introduce themselves. None of them strike any fear in this black heart or any of the hearts of crooks and scoundrels on Terra. I really miss the good old days.

I'D RATHER BE BLOGGING & WHY I HAVE A HORNSACHE

So Dan Rather would be a blogger in his next incarnation? In his true next incarnation he would be welcome to come here and hang out a shingle. Heck, we would even encourage him to come here and work with us. A journalist of his stature would be a priceless asset. I wonder what we would find out about this man in his blog? Recipes? Notions? Vitriol spewed from pursed lips at the Bush family? Who knows but one thing this demon journalist is certain of he's gotten short shrift from the monoliths running CBS. Go for it Dan! We'd love to crawl around in your head for awhile.

MY HORNS ARE ACHING

Are any of you hairless apes buying any of the dog and pony show going on in Washington about petrol prices?? Taking a hydrogen car doesn't impress people who vote. Petrol prices under $2 a gallon and the absolutely gross profits made by Exxon Mobil being used to build refineries would be a start. How much does the CEO of Exxon make?


Now China is going to drill for oil off the Cuban northwest coast. there could be as many as 9 billion barrels of oil in this field. Some American senators think the Chinese have no right to drill there. Here's a suggestion: It's Cuba's oil, pull up your britches and make nice with Fidel Castro. Stop being stubborn, when you are beat you are beat Castro 1 USA 0. Get over the fact that at the very height of your power a Cubano snubbed you and went on to make the best he could out of a Cuba that had most of its wealth flee to Miami.

A sobering thought the youth in Jonesboro massacre from March 1998 only were to be confined until they turned 21. One was released from incarceration last year and the other gets out next year with no criminal record as an adult.

This litany just keeps coming every April of every Terran year linked to the Columbine debacle. If these kids are something other than evil having them out of the school system with all its unecessary pressures could only help in correcting the problems the child has. If they are evil, well, like Klebold and Harris, we have a special place for them down here.

HATE AT PLAY

I don't play alot of video games but I did like Quake and Doom back in the day as you hip humans like to say. Seems like it was just yesterday to me. . .

However, I am a newsdemon so CNN and BBC are always on in my office. The report I saw a short time ago about a game called "Border Patrol" whos goal is to shoot caricatures of illegal Hispanic immagrants crossing the US border, turned my stomach. One of these caricatures is of a "Mexican" woman clearly in her third trimester with child histling across a border road with small children in tow. It is the task of then player to killer her because, she, as the game identifies her, is a "breeder".

Now no demon in Hell is more for freedom of speech than I am, but this is dangerous because it is so cartoonish and comical. This is the kind of shoot em up that would draw little kids into race thinking if not the mire of racism itself. I do not subscribe to the notion that video games creat killer but repetitive instruction of all types instill beliefs in children. The video route is most powerful because, "as the eyes see the heart believes," to quote our Empress. Another curiosity is the lack of claim to ownership of the game which is free on the Internet as a flash (macromedia) product.

National Alliance leader Shaun Walker lauds the game and other racist games his white supremacist organization has created. He makes it clear that these games where white players are awarded points for killing any non whites are targeted to tweens and teens. When will you all just get along?

COAL TO METHANE?

Every time I hear about the human endeavor to use abundant coal to produce fuels or natural gas I cringe. After failing to secure the oil fields of the Crimea Adolf Hitler ordered his scientists at IG Farben to turn coal into oil and thus jet fuel and fuels for all manner of army vehicles. It kinda worked but it was time consuming in that time filthy and wickedly expensive.

Now using a process commissioned in the 1970s and improved upon recently Great Point Energy is attempting to turn coal into methane gas.

WHO WILL OPEN THE CRYPT?

Oglethorpe University in Georgia has the honor of having the cutting edge time capsule on Terra. Dubbed the Crypt of Civilization and buried originally in 1936 AD, its contents include 640,000 pages of text and photos on microfilm and a primer for English which will certainly be needed by the opening date of 8113 AD. The crypt currently is on display at the university according to the website, adjacent to the bookstore in the basement of Hearst Hall.

My wager on who will open the crypt in six thousand years? An very well educated cybernetic cockroach.

SHOCK AND AWW SHIT!

Foremost I'm sure nobody wants to be the victim of a nuclear Iran. I am certain if Iran develops nuclear weapons and a capable delivery system, i.e. missiles, that can reach the USA then the Cold War start all over again. Just the fact they have nuclear material ought to frighten the Hell out of just about every sane person on the planet. Still, I'm not such a hawk, as DJN director Lord Just Mandier is that I'd see the nation vaporized. Hasn't Dubya tried that conventionally in Iraq? Didn't work there and even tactical nukes wouldn't allow America to escape unscathed.

And that's the goal isn't it to get away with another September 11 or to not be a place where terrorists detonate suicide bombs on a weekly basis. It is this reporter's opinion that the detonation of just one of those would cripple the US economy and would tip the hand in favor of a strong military crusade against Islam, Saudi Arabia included. America would win this war but it would be a brutal, racist sort of incursion that would leave the United States a pariah while at the same time leave it and China as the world's only superpowers.


The Iranian hierarchy has said it clearly that if the US attacks them they will retaliate globally against US interests. If the US does nothing and allows the Iranian junta to partner with North Korea and China on long range missile technology while they perfect their uranium enrichment process then the sword falls directly upon American heads and overnight Iran will become America's equal. While there is no way to say for certain what the reception of military men and women from America will be on Iranian soil, I can guarantee you this will not be as easy as the neocons imagined Iraq would be. You cannot bypass a military that is fighting on its own land capable and more powerful than anything Saddam Hussein could envision. This is not the army of the 1980s cripple by purges after the flight of the Shah. This is a new class of army built on the effective Soviet model with while not perfect equipment and hardware but with teeth that would give the boys at CentCom fits.

It isn't the people of Iran I am sure it is their government. Maybe the US should scale back the tactical nuclear rhetoric and focus on making it clear to Iran's leaders that their days are numbered because fuel air bombs and conventional bunker busters work just fine to effect regime change.

A LOT OF NAGGING QUESTIONS ANSWERED

It's rare, that is for me, that I can wrap up a whole slew of nagging problems with answers from one source. Today is my lucky morning. For quite some time I wondered how the American people would take their government back and now I've figured out a surefire way.

Lobbyists.

That's right the same bunch of former politicos and lawyers that tend to be a cost added portion of the federal government. One day another thing that bugs the heck out of me will be solved when I prove that lobbyists make everything you buy more expensive.

All you up there have to do is find a lobbying firm(s) and begin to lodge your complaints. Take your tax dollars to pay these people it would be better than sending it to Washington to be wasted on starting wars with nations that meant America little if any malice. A national movement of this size could raise billions to line the pockets of senators and representatives, oh I'm sorrry, their campaigns would be enriched. But this is fine at least it would motivate them to do some work on behalf of the broad sawth of citizens they represent and not some narrow special interest or a corporation looking to save millions through some legislative loop hole. I've told Corporate America(tm) a million times all they have to do is get a few of those pesky amendments (14th 15th 16th?)repealed and bring back slavery!

Stop frowning. There are going to be some lobbying firms passing this article around today doing their due diligence to brainstorm just how one sector vice another of the American populus would respond to slavery across all racial and cultural lines for people making less than USD 50,000 per year (h! 76.92/annum. These people are good at what they do and nothing, no idea is out of bounds.


Let's go back to the firm for a moment in the Washington Post article about the immigrants who hired a lobbying firm. That firm Quinn Gillespie & Associates LLC is the offspring of a merging of a democrat and a republican midwived by a bunch of lawyers. Is this the answer to my next nagging question? It sure is the question: What's the difference between the GOP and the Dems when they are no longer beholden to the voters (no it's not a joke) or a presidential administration where their freedom of speech is restricted?

Answer: Nothing. They team up because the way the American political system works is that after a period of years the Congress becomes weighed down with corruption and greed. It is the nature of the beast because governance takes a back seat to growing power withing the walls of the Capitol. Why else would someone who can be a lawyer or a doctor or CEO of just about any company want to be in Congress? All of those other people are generally accountable for their actions and unless you are literally caught with your hand in the cookie jar, ahem Mr. DeLay? Mr. Cunningham?,your elected representatives in Congress are almost untouchable. And let's not even talk about the people "holding their feet to the fire". What fire? It costs millions for these people to run for office the greatest Welfare for MBAs program in history.

With that kind of juice how can people in a congressional district in eastern Kentucky shout louder that this litany of deep pockets:

Backstopped for the rest of you means the insurers don't have to give up the billions that they take in annually, you know pay out if they lose the actuarial bet. What it boils down to is nobody but the little guy ends up screwed. The Korean hair products store goes broke but the strip mall development company gets paid. These are the same people who ensured slave ships two hundred plus years ago and the kinds of people who owned the boats who swear they weren't complicit in the second greatest genocide in human history. IT IS BETTER TO BE LUCKY THAN TO BE GOOD

My fiancee Carol, who I am delighted has found out she is pregnant, yes you bunch of poxy rats it is mine, she's craving onions, sauntered into my study tonight while I was reviewing tape of Xeni Jardin from Boing Boing being interviewed on CNN and she said without warning.

"Do you think she's hot?"

I caught myself before I could shout, "As Hell!" Instead I replied, "She's a very intelligent woman and on the cutting edge of well, the bloody cutting edge." She's done everything from going to a gun club in L.A. to a sonic weapons test at Edwards AFB. Carol is pregnant with my cambion I had to recover quickly, but alas before my demon brain could get my forked tongue to form a word uttered from my two pairs of vocal cords.

"Katie Couric's going to CBS will you be wathching her instead of The News Hour?" I cringed. Where the Hell is Lyse Doucet when you need a clear headed distraction. "I will probably watch for ten weeks just to see how she does during the American mid term elections."

It's not often I'm terrified. She just stood there waiting and then it dawned on me. I spun around and flashed my eyes at her, "You look absolutely stunning this evening." She walked over to my desk and picked up the copy of the Economist on the right corner and leaned over pecking me on the right horn.

"It's your night to cook," Carol sang as I watched her saunter out of my study.

I am one damn lucky demon.

STRANGE BEDFELLOWS

Oil companies have had an unfettered run of thirty Terran years without having to invest one dime in new refinery builds. They say this is because the cost of building a refinery that meets current Environmental Protection Agency standards would be too expensive. Does that mean they would rather do something else with their money? Certainly, they pay executives huge salaries and hire advertising agencies and lobbyists to keep their lucre flowing. I'm sure the leadership of Exxon/Mobil, Chevron, Shell, Valero, Texaco and BP all had a collective orgasm when the Republicans took control of Congress in 1994. With the twice elected Republican administration you see what you get. Oil speculators driving up prices on fears of instability in the Middle East and Nigeria. A war placed in the worst of global hot spots, Iraq, hasn't done anything to slow the speedy rise of finished product costs to consumers.

Consumers, who in six months time will turn into voters, are always quick to turn on incumbents when their wallets lay barren from what they feel are runaway prices for goods they must purchase to live and work. The GOP is feeling the heat knowing Oil Cos made a huge profit , no strike that, a staggering profit in the last Terran year across the board, they are bashing the giants of the petrol industry.

Americans don't want to hear it. The GOP senators and reps words are going in one ear and out the other because their is nothing they can do about the price of petrol anyway that wouldn't stop the flow of campaign cash to candidates running for re-election in 2006 A.D. What fool would kill that goose and cease to have golden eggs? Your elite elected officials don't pay for gas anymore than they pay for food or healthcare.

The saw these people get, unlike that for movie stars, comes from your pockets in the form of travel, transportation and tenure. These are the same people who allo laws to be passed that bar you from doing things like educating your own children to what types of medical services might be available because of the use of government funds for research. I am no fan of abortion, but I am a fan of seeing human lives last longer under the healthiest of conditions. The US government should be funding stem cell research to the hilt since there are nearly 1 million abortions per year in the US alone why not use these cells for some good purpose? I was staggered by the AGI figures for the numbers of abortions perfomed since 1973. Well over 47 million. I know this is a touchy subject for you Americans but that number alone has the power to sway the minds of anyone who has never been in the situation to have to make the choice. I wonder how many of Dobson's sheep flock are included in this number? A broad brush truly does paint all.

We are in no hurry here in hell to see most of you. But I can think of a few thousand lobbyists on K Street I'd gladly hold the door open for right now. Well, them and the folks on on the evangelical right who feel these high petrol prices are either Divine or the sign of some coming apocalypse. So very many human frailties to prey upon and so little time to scare the Hell out of all of you. Save us the trouble. Drive less, eat healthier and vote early and often in November after spending this summer finding out who YOU really stand for. Not who some slick preacher says you should cast your ballot for. Thoise rich guys in DC don't eat or live like you and that guy in the pulpit has the same dark secrets and seven sins in his heart waiting to be given the light of day.

FOOLS AND DAMNED FOOLS

Short of libel I cannot think of a damned thing I can do, here in this space or otherwise, to get people to understand that when men come to them with solutions to their problems that seem too good to be true they likely are. We wrote this morning briefly about very scary people indeed that are allied with Reverend James Dobson, who, even as America plunges into economic morass is still drunk on the wine of political power even as the cask is running dry. What he thinks is the wine of control is red alright it's the blood of over 2,300 soldiers dead in Iraq, it is the volume of blood spilled by more than 10,000 men and women proud sons and daughters willing to fight when ordered who are now maimed for life. Now this man feels the greatest climatic change in the history of civilization is not coming. This because he is following the talking points that are coming from the White House, a source in bed with the continued blind usage of fossil fuels for profit.

Katrina vanden Heuvel's excellent work in her blog The Notion points out that even when evangelicals see the light their darkest forces rise up to drown out reason and clear thinking to suit their need for continued control.


We like that whip smart vanden Heuvel lady and urge her to keep pressing the feet of those who fear change and progress to the fire.

THE PLAN

If conservative evangelicals and corporate drones can take over the country with a few thousand visits to churches, why can't liberals, libertarians and right thinking fiscal conservatives form a bloc that would include well over 60% of the electorate via the Internet? They could call it a "See for yourself!" campaign showing what the Bush Administration has done over the last six years and what the Democrats and their Left-Center coalition plan to do about it.

There would be several issues to tackle not the least of which will be what to do about Iraq, congressional investigations into warrantless wiretapping, a serious discussion about illegal immigration, a new look at Homeland Security that actually secures the Homeland and a promise to leave Social Security ALONE. use the Internet to find out what people in your district and state want for a change. The problem with Congress is it has become a force for passing legislation in the corporate or deep pocketed special interest. Many of these are just big money pork deals like the Alaskan bridge to nowhere and this jewel just unearthed in the New York Times {registr. req'd}. If Democrats can get back in control they CAn govern but to do this they will need a plan and they MUST use the power of the Internet to reach out to those who vote and to those with the cash to bankroll victorious campaigns.

In this vein I came across a conservative after reading this. Did this guy read the same article in the same language I did? The Democratic Party may be short on a few things right now but they certainly have the greatest trump card anyone running for office could ever hold, an insular, isolated and incompetant opposition Presidential Administration in the White House.

AL QAEDA'S SPRING OFFENSIVE?

Osama bin Laden directed his statements to the American people in a tape broadcast this morning by the Arab language news organ al-Jazeera. In a tape that ran for roughly eleven and a half minutes according to wire reports. Bin Laden called for a jihad in Sudan urging his followers to go there and fight against the United Nations forces to be deployed in the Darfur region. What struck this reporter was bin Laden's pointed explanation of his order of the attacks of September 11. He seems to offer insight into how the American people could prevent another "Manhattan". This reporter finds it curious that bin Laden even goes to great lengths to accuse both George W and George H W Bush for their roles in killing Muslims and supporting Israel while urging Americans to learn from their political mistakes.

Is Terra's Number 1 terrorist trying to influence the upcoming elections? We still hold here in Hell that Al Qaeda is beyond their operational planning phase and could strike targets within the United States within months of activation. Such an attack, a large scale multiple location suicide attack as we feel Al Qaeda is planning could do more to affect the US economy than its political makeup in Washington. The price of petrol is already nearing USD 3.- per gallon and is still rising on average. Such an attack, according to Ulmag Snaarveik of the Dis Center for Transdimensional Economics (TED-OG), could drive prices at the petrol pump to USD 5.- in a matter of day depending on how swiftly American return to work in the aftermath.

We expect a statement from Lord Just Mandier, Primat of the DJN later today.

I HAVE A BRIDGE TO SELL

When you get home from your worship today this rotten egg will be sitting here on our site waiting to assault your nose on its way to your brain where the veracity will lodge and give birth to a plethora of new thoughts that are all yours and haven't been programmed by a huckster who has told you what to do. I know you read what we right evangelical becuase deep in your soul you want everyone to love you. Well, we do! How can we not love a group of people who cannot distinguish fact as they believe it you call that faith on Terra from fiction as portrayed by Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code.

We know you are the same folks who sat on wooden benches in the summer of 2004 and watched glossy marketing campaigns from the promoters of a second term for Dubya. Then people like Reverend James Dobson and Reverend Jerry Falwell went to bat for their president and like lemmings you jumped off the cliff with the electoral lever in hand. I would imagine now if you had known that he really just wanted your votes and like a john with herpes left you nothing on the nightstand but did leave you a gift you sit back now plotting your revenge against your man and his neocon cabal.

But to whom do you turn to give your wounds salve? Kenneth Mehlmann has enough skeletons in his "closet" top give you fits and poor Scotty is gone from the White House now. Who is going to give you aid now that Focus on the Family's calls go unanswered at 1600 Pennsy Ave?

Maybe your salvation will come from an exterior source like Hugo Chavez or Kim Jong Il so upset that you can shop at the Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch, even your would look at the catalog, privately, that they might pay Hezhbollah to blow one up. Such an event would lead to the skittishness you like to have in the American psyche so you can dilute your vitriol with patriotism a la September 11. We here in Hell have a clear remebrance of what Falwell and Robertson said and they were given the classic slap of the wrist. But when Belafonte speaks the truth he is vilified by the media, the corporate MSM.

Our enforcement of the truth legions here in Hell have only a few ongoing missions one of which is to show Dobson et al for what they are not marionettes babbling archaic and stupid prattle dissolved in ideas of a watery consistency but as dangerous ambitious men who have poisonous ideoloigies couched in religion for their own personal gain.

So often they say the follow the letter of that book, I would posit like most men they have taken of it what they wish that suits their needs and when doors are closed and the red light of the media's lens goes dark so too go their hearts to baser things.
